The market for withholding tax and capital gains tax refunds is characterized by a high degree of complexity, country-specific features and a considerable amount of documentation. At the same time, a not inconsiderable proportion of potential withholding tax claims remain unclaimed – not because they are not justified, but because of the complexity of the process, costs and operational hurdles.

Since January 1, 2024, communication with the authorities in the relevant environment has been legally restricted to banks and tax consultants in the German market. With MiKaDiv from 2027 and the implementation of the EU FASTER regulation by the end of 2030, the technical and organizational requirements will continue to grow.

This is precisely why the market needs partners who can master regulation, tax law and technology together. For many institutions, it is more economical to address this complexity through a specialised, standardised service model.
